**Reopening of Schools in the DRC: “Craie en Mains” Teachers Return to Service**

The resumption of school activities in the Democratic Republic of Congo offers a glimmer of hope for thousands of students who have been away from classrooms for several weeks. Indeed, the teachers’ unions grouped within the “Craie en Mains” union have decided to begin a new stage in the educational process, by resuming service from this Monday throughout the Congolese territory.

This decision follows long negotiations and demands by teachers, who finally won their case regarding the payment of various bonuses and salary supplements. Aware of the importance of their mission and the impact that their mobilization has had on the education system, the teachers have shown determination and firmness in their demands.

The free bonus for primary school teachers, the August salary supplement, the payroll supervision bonus for central service agents and managers… So many legitimate demands that were finally met, allowing teachers to return to the classroom and fulfill their mission of transmitting knowledge and skills.

The union of teachers’ unions “Craie en Mains”, bringing together chalk professionals from various unions such as SYNEP, SYNECAT, SYNAPE and SYNEEPP, played a crucial role in resolving this crisis and in defending the interests of Congolese teachers. This unity and solidarity made it possible to advance demands and find concerted solutions to guarantee fairer and more equitable working conditions.

In this period of resumption of school activities, it is essential to salute the commitment and determination of Congolese teachers, who, despite the difficulties and obstacles, remain committed to their educational mission and to the training of future generations. Their investment and dedication deserve to be recognized and valued at their fair value.

Thus, the reopening of schools in the DRC marks the beginning of a new stage in the country’s educational process, placed under the sign of resilience, solidarity and the desire to build a better future for all. The “Craie en Mains” teachers took up the challenge with courage and determination, and deserve all our admiration and support in this noble mission that they accomplish on a daily basis.
