Fatshimetrie, September 15, 2024 – Last Saturday, an important page was turned with the election of a new president at the head of FENESCU/UNTC during an elective assembly in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. Abel Ndjemba was elected to take the reins of this federation of the higher education, university, science and culture sector.
His taking office was welcomed with optimism by the union’s members, who see in him a leader capable of managing conflicts and effectively representing their interests before decision-making bodies. Abel Ndjemba himself expressed his gratitude to those who placed their trust in him, emphasizing his commitment to working in collaboration with all stakeholders.
During his speech, the elected president stressed the importance of dialogue and consultation to advance the union’s demands. He also highlighted the need for balanced representation within the committee, regretting the absence of women among the elected members. A proposal was made to include a female candidate for the position of cashier, in order to promote diversity and inclusiveness within the federation.
Ngabu Luwonga Moza, Principal Delegate President of FENESCU/UNTC, welcomed the election of the new president and stressed the importance of renewing the actors within the organization. He also expressed his gratitude to the acting Director General, Simon Siala Siala, for his role in the smooth running of the elective assembly.
