Fatshimetrie recently hosted an exceptional graduation ceremony at the Institut supérieur pédagogique de la Gombe (ISP/G) in Kinshasa. During this event, 418 graduates in applied pedagogy and eight Diplômes d’études supérieures (DEA) in didactics of disciplines were launched onto the job market, marking an important milestone in their academic journey.
Led by the Director General of ISP/Gombe, Gertrude Ekombe Ekofo, the ceremony was an opportunity to confer their respective degrees on the graduates, symbolizing the success of many years of effort and dedication. The 418 graduates come from both the old system, with five years of study, and the new three-year LMD system, demonstrating the diversity and richness of the courses offered by the institution.
Beyond the simple awarding of diplomas, the Director General gave a positive assessment of the past academic year, highlighting the progress made in the areas of teaching, research and modernization of infrastructure. She stressed the importance of collaborations and exchanges with other national and international university institutions, with the aim of raising the level of training and raising ISP/Gombe to international standards.
Professor Simon Katende, Academic Secretary General of the Institute, highlighted the respect of the rearranged academic calendar and the quality of the teaching provided throughout the year. He praised the commitment of students and teachers, stressing the importance of rigor and consistency in the quest for academic excellence.
In the field of research, Professor Jean-Pierre Mbwebwa Kalala highlighted the progress made in the ISP/Gombe laboratories, with entrepreneurial training intended to strengthen the middle class. Initiatives such as awareness workshops on aquatic ecosystems or training in accommodation and concierge services have provided concrete responses to the country’s economic and social development needs.
