Fatshimetrie, September 15, 2024 – A recent agreement between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Hungary announces the imminent arrival of 320 heads of cattle of a breed known for its resistance to bovine diseases. This news was announced by the Hungarian chargé d’affaires in the DRC during a meeting with the Minister of Fisheries and Livestock, Jean-Pierre Tshimanga.
This agreement marks a promising step forward in the livestock sector in the DRC, highlighting the commitment of the Congolese government to improve the social life of citizens, in line with the vision of President Félix Antoine Tshisekedi. The Hungarian diplomat welcomed the cooperation between the two countries and expressed confidence in the quality of the cattle that will be imported.
Hungarian cattle are known for their resistance to diseases, making them valuable animals for the livestock sector in the DRC. Tests will be carried out to confirm the quality of these animals and ensure their adaptability to local conditions.
This initiative is part of the investments that Hungary plans to make in the livestock sector in the DRC, particularly in the dairy production chain. The Minister of Fisheries and Livestock will also participate in the upcoming economic forum in Budapest, scheduled for 14-20 October, which demonstrates the importance given to relations between the two countries in the field of livestock.
