TP Mazembe’s stunning dominance over Red Arrows: Towards glory in the CAF Champions League

TP Mazembe, the iconic Congolese club, shone brightly in their resounding victory over Red Arrows with a score of 2-0 in the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League. This match, which took place at the Levy Mwana Wassa stadium in Ndola, Zambia, saw the unchallenged domination of the Ravens of Lubumbashi.

It was Oscar Kabwit, a talented player of TP Mazembe, who opened the scoring in the 67th minute with a powerful left-footed shot, on a pinpoint pass from Fily Traoré. Then, in the 71st minute, it was Merceil Ngimbi who put the nail in the coffin by scoring a second goal with a precise strike from the same left foot. This double achievement confirmed the technical and tactical superiority of Lamine Ndiaye’s players.

This success is all the more remarkable since TP Mazembe had to face difficult conditions due to the lack of competition linked to the late start of the LINAFOOT championship. Despite this restrictive context, the Ravens were able to show their full potential and secure a deserved victory.

With this comfortable lead, the Lubumbashi team is well positioned to qualify for the group stage of the CAF Champions League. TP Mazembe supporters can legitimately hope to see their team shine again on the continental stage.

The players immediately returned to Lubumbashi to calmly prepare for the return match to be held at the TP Mazembe stadium on September 21. In this temple of Congolese football, the Ravens will be keen to confirm their supremacy and continue their brilliant run in this prestigious competition. Their motivation and determination seem to be major assets that could take them far in this CAF Champions League.
