Kinshasa, September 13, 2024 – In the dynamic of promoting social and ethical values within Congolese society, the establishment of three local commissions in Kinshasa marks a significant step forward in the “Si mama Muilu aujourd’hui” awareness-raising project on good morals. This initiative, paying tribute to the legacy of Mama Muilu, an emblematic figure of the Kimbanguist Church, aims to instill principles of respect, integrity and solidarity within the community.
The first commission, focused on the scientific and pedagogical dimension, is working on the creation of a teaching manual intended for different levels of education, as well as the organization of workshops and seminars aimed at disseminating these teachings throughout the territory of the DRC. In addition, this commission will establish rigorous criteria for the selection of the winners of the “Mama Muilu Prize”, an honorary distinction rewarding commendable actions within Congolese society.
The political commission, for its part, has played a key role in advocating with national legislative bodies since 2022, in order to highlight the values defended by Mama Muilu and to anchor them at the heart of the country’s political debate. Its commitment to a more just and ethical society constitutes an essential pillar of the vision carried by this project.
Finally, the cultural commission’s mission is to promote art dedicated to Mama Muilu and to find a symbolic location to showcase this work in Kinshasa and beyond. Through the organization of cultural events and the nomination of the winners of the “Mama Muilu/DRC” prize, this commission is committed to preserving and promoting Mama Muilu’s cultural heritage.
In a context where Congolese society aspires to role models and inspiring examples, the “Si mama Muilu aujourd’hui” project is an initiative that brings meaning and hope. Led by committed personalities such as Ms. Néfertiti Ngudianza and Professor Anastasie Mansanga, this project embodies an ambitious vision for building a more united and supportive community.
In short, these local commissions represent a major step forward in promoting the social and ethical values advocated by Mama Muilu, thus offering Congolese society a unique opportunity to draw on a rich cultural and spiritual heritage that brings hope and renewal.
