**Heroic Rescue Operation in Katsina State: Happy Ending for Kidnapped Victims**

Katsina State, Nigeria has witnessed a courageous and efficient rescue operation, ending the nightmare of nine kidnapped victims, including eight women and a young boy, at the hands of armed bandits who attacked Unguwar Awa village in Malumfashi Local Government Area.

A distress call on 13th September 2024, at around 6:30am, alerted authorities that the bandits had invaded the village and opened fire indiscriminately before carrying out the abductions. The Commissioner for Security and Internal Affairs, Dr. Mua’zu Danmusa, coordinated the intervention which was swift and determined.

A joint team of police officers from Malumfashi Division, members of the Katsina State Community Watch and the military responded to the call, tracking the kidnappers to Burdugau village. An intense gunfight ensued, forcing the bandits to retreat and allowing the safe recovery of the victims, who were reunited with their loved ones unharmed.

The Katsina State Government reaffirms its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of its citizens, and promises to continue working closely with the security forces to combat crime and bring to justice those responsible for such malicious acts.
