Fatshimetrie, September 10, 2024 – A promising new alliance has just been sealed between the National Institute of Building and Public Works (INBTP/Kinshasa) and the Institute of Building and Public Works (IBTP/Kisangani), thus announcing a fruitful collaboration in the field of scientific and technical training.
This agreement, initiated in Kinshasa and officially unveiled on September 9, marks the beginning of a major cooperation between these two renowned institutions. INBTP/Kinshasa, with its recognized expertise, responded favorably to IBTP/Kisangani’s request to strengthen the skills of its scientific staff at the postgraduate level.
From the 2022-2023 academic year, INBTP/Kinshasa is committed to supporting IBTP/Kisangani in training and scientific research, in particular by facilitating the exchange of professors and technicians between the two institutes. This collaboration is part of an academic and professional development perspective, aimed at training highly qualified executives capable of excelling in various fields of engineering.
One of the flagship initiatives of this cooperation is the admission of IBTP/Kisangani learners to the third cycle via the INBTP/Kinshasa doctoral school, from the 2023-2024 academic year. In addition, complementary master’s programs will be offered in the fields of engineering science and technology, offering IBTP/Kisangani teachers the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and diversify their skills.
This historic collaboration between INBTP/Kinshasa and IBTP/Kisangani represents a major step forward in the field of postgraduate teacher training, opening up new perspectives for exchanges and cooperation within the academic community. By designating IBTP/Kisangani as the academic pool of IBTPs in the north-east region for postgraduate training, this agreement strengthens the institution’s positioning as a key player in the field of engineering and public works.
The four complementary master’s programs offered, namely in transport infrastructure, structures, hydraulics, and geotechnics and construction materials, offer IBTP teachers in the north-east region a unique opportunity to specialize and acquire advanced skills in their respective fields.
The five-year renewable collaboration contract demonstrates the long-term commitment of both institutions to academic excellence and the promotion of scientific research in the field of engineering. By signing this agreement, the Directors General of INBTP/Kinshasa, Associate Professor and Doctor of Engineering Cédrick Tshibangu Muyenze, and of IBTP/Kisangani, Professor and Doctor of Engineering Sylvain Alongo Longomba, affirm their desire to strengthen the links between their respective institutions and to actively contribute to the development of higher education in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
This collaboration thus marks the beginning of a new era for IBTP/Kisangani, which, thanks to this strategic partnership with INBTP/Kinshasa, is opening up to new perspectives of excellence and innovation in the field of engineering and public works. This alliance demonstrates the commitment of both institutions to promote academic excellence and to train the next generation of competent and qualified executives, ready to take on the challenges of the modern world.
