The recent military operation carried out by the Congolese army in the Biakato region and along the Samboko and Ituri rivers resulted in the elimination of four Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebels and the release of nine hostages. This initiative, which took place from 4 to 6 September, made it possible to neutralise two attackers on Wednesday 4 September and two others on Friday 6 September. In addition to the security aspect, this operation also made it possible to recover military effects and property belonging to the rebels.

These joint actions by the Congolese and Ugandan armies represent a significant step forward in the fight against rebel groups that have been operating in the region for several years. By freeing hostages and eliminating disruptive elements, these operations strengthen the security of local populations and send a strong message to armed groups seeking to spread terror.

It is crucial to emphasise the importance of cooperation between the two armies to ensure the success of such operations. Collaboration and coordination of efforts are essential to ensure a positive outcome in the fight against insecurity and terrorism. The recent actions carried out in Biakato and Samboko demonstrate the determination of the authorities to restore peace and stability in the region.

By calling on the population to avoid combat zones and to continue to support the armed forces, the Congolese army shows that it counts on the support and commitment of all to counter the threats weighing on the region. It is essential that the local population remains vigilant and actively participates in efforts to guarantee the security and prosperity of the region.

Ultimately, this successful military operation is a step forward in the fight against rebel groups and acts of violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo. It demonstrates the determination of the authorities to ensure the security of citizens and to restore peace in areas affected by conflict. Continued actions and cooperation between security forces are essential to achieve this crucial objective and guarantee a peaceful future for all.
