Initiatives of the ESU Joint Commission: towards a promising educational future in the DRC

The recent initiatives of the Joint Government-Union Commission for Higher and University Education (ESU) in Kinshasa have attracted the interest and support of many stakeholders involved in the education sector in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This work, launched in Bibwa in the commune of N’sele, aims to assess the commitments made and find innovative solutions to resolve outstanding issues.

The Minister of ESU, Marie-Thérèse Sombo, welcomed the committed participation of all stakeholders in these constructive discussions. She stressed the importance of creating an environment conducive to effective work, highlighting the common desire to achieve fair and equitable solutions.

The discussions, chaired by the Minister of State for the Budget, Aimé Boji Sangara, representing the Prime Minister, are part of a process of mediation and the search for balanced compromises. With over 200 participants gathered, this work represents a unique opportunity to foster dialogue and strengthen cooperation within the higher and university education sector.

This event is of paramount importance in the current context marked by the multiple challenges facing the education sector in the DRC. The quest for a climate of peace and social stability is at the heart of the authorities’ concerns, and the ongoing discussions aim to promote a constructive and inclusive dialogue to address these challenges.
