New wave of recruitment in education in Kwara State: towards a strengthening of the sector and promising employment opportunities.

The recent release by the Communications Officer of Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (KwSUBEB), Aminat Atere, has created a wave of excitement among education stakeholders in the sector. In an official statement, the Chairman of the Board, Prof. Shehu Adaramaja, announced that steps have been taken to authorize a fresh round of hiring in the education sector.

It was revealed that the Board has approved the recruitment of 695 Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) holders, 605 National Certificate of Education (NCE) holders, 200 security officers, as well as 111 other categories of non-teaching staff. These figures are a testament to Kwara State’s commitment to strengthening its education system and providing new employment opportunities in the sector.

Prof. Adaramaja noted that the recruitments are the result of a careful assessment of the needs of educational institutions in the 16 LGAs of the state. He also mentioned that these positions are meant to fill vacancies left by retirements, deaths or transfers to other states.

To ensure fair and transparent recruitment, the council has opted for a local needs-based approach without sacrificing the competence and qualifications of the candidates. Recruitment will be done at the local government level or in communities/villages where the services are particularly needed.

This initiative follows the approval of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq who fully supports this move aimed at strengthening the education sector in the state. It reflects the government’s commitment to quality education and creating employment opportunities for young graduates.

In conclusion, this recruitment project initiated by KwSUBEB is a significant step towards improving the education system in the state and providing new career opportunities for local talents. It demonstrates the government’s continued commitment to education and socio-economic development of Kwara State.
