Priority action plan: the keys to Kinshasa’s development in 2024-2028

Fatshimetrie, August 23, 2024 – During a technical meeting held yesterday in Kinshasa, the provincial Minister of Planning, H.E. Mr. Jésus-Noël SHEKE, gave key instructions for the development of a priority action plan for the Kinshasa provincial government program for the period 2024-2028. This working session brought together the provincial Minister of Planning, the head of the Planning division and office attachés, and was an opportunity to discuss in depth the priorities and measures to be implemented to ensure the development of the province.

At the heart of the discussions was the need to design a Priority Action Plan (PAP), a strategic document essential for the effective implementation of the provincial government program. This plan should be developed as soon as possible in order to guide the actions to be undertaken to respond to the challenges and development issues of Kinshasa.

The provincial government program, under the leadership of Governor Daniel Bumba, aims to address various key aspects such as sanitation, security, transparency in the management of urban revenues and the mobility of residents. One of the first initiatives of this program is the “Coup de poing” operation, intended to rid the Congolese capital of millions of tons of waste that clog rivers, markets and main arteries. The intervention of the army’s military engineering service contributes to restoring Kinshasa’s cleanliness and improving the quality of life of citizens.

The establishment of a Priority Action Plan will make it possible to structure and organize the priority actions to be implemented within the framework of the provincial government program. It is an essential tool to ensure the coherence, coordination and success of development projects in Kinshasa, and to meet the expectations and needs of the population.

In conclusion, the development of the Priority Action Plan marks an important step in achieving the objectives of the Kinshasa provincial government program. This concerted effort to define and implement priority actions will help address the development challenges of the Congolese capital and improve the quality of life of its residents. The Kinshasa provincial government is thus demonstrating its determination to work towards a better and more prosperous future for all.
