Fatshimetrie, Goma, August 24, 2024: A commendable initiative ended this Saturday in Goma, in the East of the Democratic Republic of Congo, with the closing of an English language training course for children and adults. This training was offered as part of the holidays by a local association, Action Volontaire pour le Développement (AVD).
The importance of mastering the English language in today’s world cannot be overestimated. Indeed, English has become the international language par excellence, used in political, economic, commercial and even online fields. Mr. Élie Birindwa Kamungu, coordinator of the AVD, emphasizes the need for this training to open up international business opportunities and not be left behind in an increasingly connected world.
The training provided by the AVD was a great success, with the participation of a large number of children and adults eager to improve their English skills. David Nganda, a young schoolboy participating in the training, testifies to the usefulness of this language for his future, allowing him to feel ready to face a world where English is omnipresent.
The AVD, which has been carrying out development actions in Goma since 2011, has added a string to its bow by offering training in English, thus giving thousands of children the opportunity to acquire essential language skills. This year, 487 children benefited from this training, thus contributing to the empowerment of young people and the opening of new perspectives.
This 13th edition of the English language training organized by the AVD demonstrates the commitment of this association to the education and development of children in Goma. The benefits of these trainings are felt in the long term, offering participants opportunities for personal and professional development.
