Developing the Export of Congolese Agricultural Products: Anapex Promotes International Competitiveness

Lubumbashi, August 24, 2024 – The National Agency for Export Promotion (Anapex) is actively preparing for the organization of a large-scale conference in Lubumbashi, focused on the promotion of Congolese agricultural products. This initiative aims to raise awareness and inform economic operators in Haut-Katanga on the opportunities to penetrate international markets with quality products.

Thythy Nsumbu, Director of Product Development and Technical Assistance at Anapex, emphasizes the importance of making Congolese agricultural products competitive on the world market. He regrets that the majority of goods exported across the Kasumbalesa border are essentially minerals, while the Democratic Republic of Congo has valuable agricultural and forestry wealth that is in demand internationally.

In this perspective, Anapex is committed to supporting Congolese economic operators, particularly those in Haut-Katanga, to increase their competitiveness on the international scene. The aim is to encourage trade with neighbouring countries such as Zambia and to open new avenues to other destinations.

The conference announced by the National Agency for the Promotion of Exports is an essential opportunity for local economic actors to familiarise themselves with international standards, quality requirements and global market trends. By participating in this event, they will be able to benefit from personalised support to enhance and promote Congolese agricultural products in an efficient and competitive manner.

It is essential that economic operators in Haut-Katanga respond massively to this invitation from Anapex, in order to seize the opportunities offered by the conference and initiate a new dynamic in the region’s agricultural sector.

This initiative reflects the Congolese government’s desire to highlight the country’s agricultural potential and promote its integration into the global economy, as a major player in the production of quality and environmentally friendly products.

In conclusion, the conference on the valorization of Congolese agricultural products in Lubumbashi promises to be a key event for the economic development of the Haut-Katanga region and for the promotion of Congolese exports, by highlighting the know-how and diversity of local products on the international scene.
