**Fatshimetrie: Towards a radical improvement of the business climate in the DRC**
Since Thursday August 15, 2024, the major event in the business world in the Democratic Republic of Congo is undoubtedly the launch of the retreat of the “Technical Group of Sectoral Experts on Business Climate”. Organized by the National Agency for the Promotion of Investments (ANAPI) in collaboration with the TRANSFORME project of the World Bank, this high-level meeting aims to evaluate the Roadmap of government reforms in terms of the business climate, as recommended by President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo.
Faced with the strategic importance of improving the business climate for the economic development of the DRC, the various actors involved in this retreat affirmed their unfailing commitment to finding concrete solutions to overcome the obstacles to the implementation of reforms. Bruno Tshibangu Kabaji, Director General of ANAPI, stressed the need to accelerate reforms to stimulate private investment, to revise the Investment Code and to strengthen the capacities of structures to fight corruption.
This major meeting was also marked by the remarks of the Deputy Prime Minister in charge of Planning and Coordination of Development Aid, Guylain Nyembo, who reaffirmed the vital importance of climate change. business to attract domestic and foreign investment. According to him, this approach is part of the political will of the President of the Republic to create an environment conducive to entrepreneurship and business growth.
The challenge now facing the various stakeholders is to converge their efforts towards the effective implementation of reforms aimed at improving the business climate in the DRC. It is essential to guarantee a secure and attractive legal framework for investors, while ensuring an effective fight against corruption and promoting transparent and effective economic governance.
In this sense, the creation of a Unit dedicated to the Business Climate within the office of the President of the Republic demonstrates the affirmed political will to place this theme at the heart of government concerns. This dynamic demonstrates the determination of the Congolese government to actively work to improve the business and investment climate, with a view to sustainable and inclusive development.
At the end of this retreat, which will end on August 17, it is expected that concrete and operational recommendations will be formulated to accelerate the implementation of reforms and promote a business environment conducive to the economic and social prosperity of the DRC..
