Sublime renovation of the entrance to the archaeological zone of the Giza Plateau

The development of infrastructure at the entrance to the archaeological zone on the Giza plateau constitutes a major challenge for Egypt, as this region is of capital historical and cultural importance, and remains an exceptional tourist destination.

Under the leadership of Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, careful supervision has been put in place to monitor the progress of the development work at the entrance to the archaeological zone on the Giza plateau. Accompanied by the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Sherif Fathy, the Governor of Giza, Adel al-Naggar, the Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, Mohamed Ismail, as well as officials of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Prime Minister keen to emphasize the importance of carrying out these developments in a manner that is respectful of the cultural and historical value of the region.

The ambitious objective of this work is to improve the visitor experience, not only to encourage them to return, but also to enable them to become true ambassadors of this exceptional site.

During his visit, Mostafa Madbouly was able to closely examine the works in progress and those already finalized aimed at improving the entrance to the archaeological zone of the Giza plateau, while receiving detailed explanations from the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities.

Particular attention has been paid to the development of the gateways located on the Cairo-Fayoum road, which will constitute the main access point to the region. The Prime Minister also inspected the path leading to these gates, highlighting the concern for the comfort and safety of visitors, including the installation of parasols, modern lighting systems, and the organization of the entrance of tourist buses from these new gates, which have dedicated parking spaces that can accommodate nearly 1,000 cars and buses.

Furthermore, other notable advances were presented to the delegation, such as the routes designed for the movement of visitors inside the archaeological site of the Pyramid Plateau, ensuring safe and environmentally friendly electric transport, allowing visitors to contemplate the emblematic monuments throughout their journey.

Improvement projects also include the organization of routes for travel on horseback, camel and carriage, as well as the regulation of the activity of street vendors in the region.

Furthermore, the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities highlighted that the development project includes the establishment of a service center for tourists, toilets, smart gates with electronic ticketing, cinema halls, a medical center , as well as a space dedicated to senior visitors.

The Giza Plateau embodies an inestimable historical treasure for Egypt and this renovation project promises to enhance its reception, thus offering an enriched and unforgettable experience to all those who visit this emblematic site.

I welcome these initiatives which aim to enhance this ancestral heritage while offering visitors an unforgettable and enriching experience.
