“The Annual Performance Review in the South Kivu2 educational province has just ended with a strong commitment to improve the quality of education. This meeting, which took place in Baraka, in the East of the Democratic Republic of Congo, brought together various stakeholders in the education sector, all driven by the desire to raise the standards of education in the region.

Albert Bope, Director of the South Kivu2 educational province, stressed the importance of this review in assessing the past school year and planning actions to be implemented for the coming year. The main objective being to improve the quality of education, discussions focused particularly on key topics such as access to education, the quality of teaching provided and school governance.

The quality of education is a crucial issue that directly impacts the socio-economic development of a region. This is why the participants committed to putting in place concrete measures to stimulate this quality and promote sustainable progress in the education system in South Kivu province2.

The presence of the representative of the Minister of Education, Dieudonné Cigohe, reinforced the importance given to this annual performance review. The latter expressed his hope that this work would serve as a catalyst to strengthen access to education, improve its quality and strengthen governance in the education sector.

The three days of discussions allowed the various education stakeholders, such as sub-proveds, inspectors, division heads and local officials, to share their experiences and define concrete areas for improvement for the coming school year.
