Corneille Nangaa Case: A Key Trial for Justice in the DRC

The legal case involving Corneille Nangaa, former president of the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) and leader of the Congo River Alliance (AFC), attracted great interest during the pleadings before the Kinshasa/Gombe Military Court. The session of Tuesday, July 30, 2024 was marked by the defense of the defendants and the replies to the prosecution’s submissions and the conclusions of the civil party, the Democratic Republic of Congo.

During this hearing, Mr. Peter Ngomo, lawyer for five of the defendants, explained the circumstances of the arrests while denouncing the numerous irregularities that marred the procedure.
