The Minister of Posts, Telecommunications and Digital Affairs, His Excellency Augustin Kibassa Maliba, recently visited China to participate in the China-Africa Digital Cooperation Forum. This visit is part of the Democratic Republic of Congo’s efforts to strengthen partnerships and exchanges in the field of information and communication technologies.
Upon his arrival in Beijing, the capital of the People’s Republic of China, Augustin Kibassa Maliba was warmly welcomed by the Chinese authorities and the delegation of the DRC Embassy in China. This Forum, organized by the Chinese government, aims to promote collaboration and the sharing of experiences in digital development between China and African countries.
This initiative is of great importance in a context where digital technology plays an increasingly crucial role in the economic and social development of countries. Connectivity in rural areas, the construction of national data centers and the security of digital infrastructures are major challenges facing many countries, particularly in Africa.
The China-Africa Digital Cooperation Forum thus provides a unique exchange platform allowing public and private stakeholders from both continents to share their knowledge, best practices and innovations in the field of information and communication technologies.
The participation of more than thirty African ministers in charge of digital development as well as representatives from industry and civil society demonstrates the growing interest in China-Africa cooperation in the digital field. These exchanges are essential to promote common development, stimulate innovation and strengthen the digital capacities of African countries.
Ultimately, this meeting between China and Africa in the field of digital cooperation opens up new prospects for mutually beneficial partnership and collaboration. It demonstrates the willingness of the stakeholders involved to work together to meet the challenges of digital technology and seize the development opportunities it offers.
