Fatshimetrie July 28, 2024 – A new chapter has opened in the history of road infrastructure in the Democratic Republic of Congo with the signing of the contract to supervise the construction work on the road linking Kananga to Kalamba-Mbuji in the Kasai-Central province. This announcement marks a significant step towards the realization of a major project intended to improve connectivity and regional development.
The Congolese Agency for Major Works (ACGT) and the firm “BKA” have sealed an essential partnership to ensure technical supervision and proper execution of the work. This agreement demonstrates the commitment of local stakeholders to promote Congolese expertise in the field of infrastructure construction, in accordance with the vision of the Head of State to promote the involvement of national talents in the development of the country.
Indeed, the BKA firm, composed of Congolese engineers and architects with international experience, is positioned as a key player in the realization of this strategically important project. The collaboration between the ACGT, the Roads Office (OR) and the BKA firm guarantees multidisciplinary expertise and rigorous monitoring throughout the construction process of the Kananga-Kalamba-Mbuji road.
This project is part of the 2024-2028 Five-Year Plan of the Government of the Republic, financed by the Sino-Congolese Program, aimed at strengthening the country’s road infrastructure to promote economic and social development. The reactivation of this initiative after a period of recovery demonstrates the authorities’ determination to implement structuring projects for the benefit of the Congolese population.
The completion of the Kananga-Kalamba-Mbuji road represents a major step forward for the Kasai-Central province, offering new prospects for mobility, access to basic services and economic development in the region.
