FEC/Ituri warns against any support for insurrectional movements

From its executive office in Bunia, the Federation of Congolese Enterprises (FEC) Ituri issues a solemn warning: any support for an insurrectional movement aimed at destabilizing the province will be vigorously condemned. This unequivocal statement follows persistent rumors about traders ready to support elements joining the M23.

The FEC places peace and development at the top of its priorities, urging economic actors to work for the prosperity of the region. In a world where instability reigns, it is imperative to consolidate the gains of peace, put in place by the provincial authorities.

During a meeting, the president of the FEC/Ituri, Lonema Mukwa, firmly declared his solidarity with the military authorities against the aggressions perpetrated by Rwanda under the aegis of the M23. He stressed the need not to tolerate any form of support for criminal groups seeking to destabilize the Democratic Republic of Congo, and more particularly the province of Ituri.

“We cannot stand idly by in the face of the aggression that our country is suffering from the M23. It is crucial to dissuade anyone tempted to follow this path. Peace within our nation is essential. We cannot allow our country to be put in danger, because we must cherish our homeland, the DRC, our only asset,” stressed President Mukwa.

At the same time, the FEC/Ituri submitted a request to the provincial governor for the implementation of asphalting works on national road number 27 linking Bunia to Goli, as well as other roads in the city of Bunia by the Mont Gabaon company. This initiative aims to facilitate the mobility of people and goods, thus strengthening commercial activity in the region.

Lieutenant General Johny Luboya N’kasha, Governor of the province, encouraged economic operators to adopt a rigorous tax culture. This approach would allow the authorities to obtain adequate financial resources to support the development of Ituri.

In conclusion, the FEC/Ituri positions itself as a bulwark against any form of interference that would jeopardize the stability and prosperity of the region. By joining forces to promote peace and economic development, local actors are actively contributing to building a promising future for Ituri and the entire Democratic Republic of Congo.
