The Return in Force of the Lamuka Coalition: A Challenge to Félix Tshisekedi

The Lamuka coalition, a group of opposition political parties in the Democratic Republic of Congo, is preparing its return to the forefront of politics. After a period of relative discretion, members of the coalition are ready to resume public demonstrations to express their dissatisfaction with the regime in place led by Félix Tshisekedi.

The announcement was made by the coalition spokesperson, Prince Epenge, during an interview with Média Congo Press. According to him, the objective of these demonstrations is clear: to allow the Congolese people to get rid of a regime considered ineffective and disappointing. Lamuka members believe that the current government has failed in many areas and has not kept its electoral promises.

Prince Epenge insists that political strategies must be implemented carefully and at the right time. He explains that the Congolese are now aware of Félix Tshisekedi’s broken promises, and that they are ready to act to obtain concrete changes.

Interestingly, since the December 2023 elections, the opposition had been relatively quiet in terms of public protests. This decision to resume street actions demonstrates a renewed desire to defend the interests of the Congolese people and to firmly oppose the government in place.

In conclusion, the Lamuka coalition marks a significant return to the Congolese political scene and could well be a key player in the months to come. The upcoming demonstrations promise to be a manifestation of the popular will to see political and social change in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
