Fatshimetrie, Lubumbashi, July 20, 2024 – A landmark event took place recently, bringing together 60 young representatives from NGOs, non-profit organizations and private companies for training on non-transactional leadership. Organized by the Association of Builders of Hope, this initiative aimed to raise participants’ awareness of the importance of promoting leadership focused on the social rather than focused on financial profit.
Under the theme “Becoming a non-transactional leader: an imperative for community profitability”, the conference allowed young leaders to share the needs, challenges and projects of their respective structures. Suzane Samba, head of the provincial youth division, stressed the importance of working in synergy and working for the common good beyond personal and family interests.
At the heart of the discussions, the notion of motivating employees to achieve excellence was addressed by leadership trainer, Urcin Banza. This highlighted the importance of transformational leadership, highlighting the well-being of others, the shared vision and the stimulation of creativity and innovation within work teams. According to him, prioritizing social interest over the quest for financial profit is essential to guarantee profitability that is truly beneficial to the community as a whole.
Human relations were also highlighted as a fundamental pillar of entrepreneurial and community success. Indeed, promoting employee skills and developing relationships of trust are key elements in promoting the development and growth of a company.
In conclusion, the commitment to non-transactional leadership based on collaboration, motivation and shared vision appears to be an essential lever for the emergence of a more inclusive and ethical society. By encouraging young leaders to place collective interest at the heart of their actions, this training aims to promote positive and lasting change within organizations and the community as a whole.
