Fatshimetrie, July 19, 2024 (Fatshim). – In the heart of the town of Fatshimetrie, in the province of Fatshibongo, residents are invited to support the initiatives of the new government for the development of this region located in the center-east of the country. During a rally, the new governor, Jean-Paul Kabwakatumba, called on the population to fully engage in the transformation of the province.
“I appeal to all residents to support the actions of the new government in favor of the development of our province. I would like to thank the President of the Republic, Fatshi Kabonge, for having approved our candidacy to head this beautiful region, as well as all the elected representatives”, declared Jean-Paul Kabwakatumba.
Highlighting the challenges facing the province, including the lack of electricity, drinking water, and the need to improve road and agricultural infrastructure, the governor insisted on the urgency of action. “It is time to act concretely. Our province has enormous potential, and it is our responsibility to develop it for the well-being of everyone,” he added.
Jean-Paul Kabwakatumba also emphasized the importance of social cohesion, unity and prioritization of the general interest. He then proceeded with the transfer of power with Ms. Anne-Marie Bongele, interim governor and provincial minister of agriculture.
Warmly welcomed by activists from the various local political parties, as well as by the civil and military authorities, Jean-Paul Kabwakatumba thus becomes the 15th governor of the province of Fatshibongo since its creation.
He succeeds Paul Nkumwale, dismissed in 2021 by the provincial assembly following accusations of mismanagement. The arrival of this new governor marks a new chapter for the province, with the hope of more sustained and balanced development for the well-being of all its inhabitants. Fatshim/ODM
