Promoting collective savings to boost entrepreneurship in Butembo

Fatshimetrie, September 6, 2024 – Key commerce players in Butembo recently participated in a targeted awareness session on the importance of individual and collective savings in entrepreneurial development. This initiative, orchestrated by the National Agency for the Development of Congolese Entrepreneurship (ANADEC), took place on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the cooperative of illuminated merchants of Butembo (COOMAMIBU), in the presence of the deputy mayor of the city, Jacques Lumanimbu.

Aloyse Barahajiramwira Longa, local manager of ANADEC, highlighted the positive impact that savings can have on business growth and access to financing. He highlighted the crucial role of self-financing in the realization of entrepreneurial projects and encouraged COOMAMIBU members to consider savings as an essential lever to boost their activities.

During his speech, Mr. Longa highlighted the advantages of individual and collective savings as a sustainable source of income, allowing entrepreneurs to strengthen their productive capacities and improve their financial conditions. He also highlighted ANADEC’s commitment to supporting the cooperative and its members in their entrepreneurial initiatives.

COOMAMIBU, a local cooperative focused on promoting savings and credit, aims to promote entrepreneurship to improve the socio-economic conditions of its members and the population of Butembo as a whole.
