Crisis of unpaid salaries in education: the urgency to act in Mai-Ndombe

In the educational province of Mai-Ndombe 3, discontent is brewing among teachers who are impatiently awaiting the payment of their salaries for the months of April, May and June. This alarming situation was brought to light by the director of the entity, Nestor Ntumba Ndaye, who highlighted the financial difficulties faced by teachers and their families.

Despite progress in July, teachers in Mai-Ndombe have still not received their salaries, plunging many families into increasing precariousness. The director expressed the dismay of the local educational community, stressing that even the participation of their children in national examinations is compromised due to this unsustainable financial situation.

Since the transition to the banking of civil servant salaries, many teachers and agents find themselves unable to receive their salaries in areas not served by banking institutions. This problem has generated considerable payment delays, affecting households already weakened by difficult ends of the month.

It is essential that urgent measures be taken to resolve this situation and ensure the financial stability of teachers in Mai-Ndombe. Non-payment of salaries not only impacts the quality of education provided, but also compromises the well-being of teachers’ families, jeopardizing the fundamental right to quality education for students in the region. The competent authorities must intervene quickly to resolve this crisis which weighs heavily on the life of the local educational community.
