Fatshimétrie, June 28, 2024 – Talented table tennis player Exaucé Ngefuassa from the Democratic Republic of Congo recently launched an urgent appeal to the sports authorities of his country. It is seeking financial support to carry out its preparation for the next African Table Tennis Cup of Nations, which will be held in Ethiopia from October 12 to 19, 2024.
In a poignant statement, Exaucé Ngefuassa, nicknamed the Leopard of DRC table tennis, expressed the crucial need for financial assistance to improve his training conditions. Despite his strenuous efforts, he finds himself confronted with obstacles which hinder his progress and compromise his individual performances.
Just a few months before the start of the continental competition, the Congolese table tennis player highlights the difficulties he faces on a daily basis. He aspires to benefit from adequate support to complete a preparation course abroad, in order to be in the best possible conditions to represent his country with dignity during this major sporting event.
Heeded Ngefuassa’s moving appeal is addressed not only to the Minister of Sports and Leisure of the DRC, Didier Bidimbu, but also to all generous souls ready to help him. It is essential that the government and partners involved in the field of sport respond favorably to this legitimate request, in order to allow this young talent to give the best of himself on the continental scene.
Furthermore, in addition to Exaucé Ngefuassa, the Congolese delegation for the African Table Tennis Cup of Nations will also count on the presence of two other male athletes, namely Bertin Minga and Junior Zombo. These athletes are playing respectively in Belgium and Congo Brazzaville, and they also hope to benefit from the necessary support to prepare optimally for this high-level competition.
It is crucial to highlight the challenges that the Congo Table Tennis Federation (FTTC) has been facing for several years, both financially and materially.
