As part of the vast project to rehabilitate national road No. 5 linking Bukavu to Kamanyola, a visit to the works was carried out by Prime Minister Judith Suminwa, accompanied by a highly representative delegation. The company in charge of this work, Sinohydro, has been urged to accelerate the pace of work to ensure rapid and efficient progress.
During her visit, the Prime Minister insisted on the importance of the quality of the work and encouraged the company to overcome the challenges that arise. Officials on the ground, including the head of mission of the Congolese Major Works Agency, highlighted the progress made, with already 15 kilometers of road rehabilitated out of the 55 planned. The next steps include the finalization of the remaining three kilometers, as well as the reconstruction of strategic bridges.
