A glimmer of hope finally illuminates the Ferme de Kabondo district in Boma

Fatshimetrie, June 26, 2024 – A glimmer of hope has finally illuminated the Ferme district of the commune of Kabondo in Boma, in Kongo Central. After six long months plunged into darkness, residents were finally able to return to their normal daily lives thanks to the installation of a brand new electrical transformer. This initiative, orchestrated by the government of the Democratic Republic of Congo, was made possible thanks to the hard work of local elected officials in the town of Boma.

The head of the center of the National Electricity Company (Snel) of Bas-fleuve, Henry Phanzu Nzati, underlined the importance of this action for the Ferme district. Not only does it end a precarious situation that has lasted for too long, but it also improves the quality of life of residents by reducing the risks associated with darkness, such as theft, urban banditry and rape.

However, despite this notable progress, other neighborhoods in the commune of Kabondo, such as Seka Mbote and Pesse, still remain plunged in darkness, awaiting the installation of electrical transformers. It is therefore crucial that the authorities continue their efforts to extend this improvement to the entire local population.

This victory is not only material, but it also symbolizes renewed hope for the residents of the Ferme district. By regaining the light, they also regain part of their dignity and security. Hopefully this positive example inspires other similar actions in other regions facing similar difficulties.

In conclusion, this installation of a new electrical transformer in the Ferme à Boma district is a beautiful illustration of what is possible to achieve when local and national authorities join forces for the well-being of the population. This is a significant step forward towards a brighter future for these often forgotten communities.
