Fatshimetrie, June 24, 2024 – During the workshop on scientific research and technological innovation in the Democratic Republic of Congo, eleven remarkable innovations were unveiled and welcomed by the Prime Minister. These advances, designed by Congolese geniuses, offer transformative potential for the government’s action program.
Prime Minister Judith Suminwa has highlighted the strategic importance of scientific research and innovation in boosting the six pillars of the government agenda. She also recalled the President of the Republic’s commitment to making this area a major priority upon his inauguration.
These eleven innovations, fruits of the creative genius of Congolese inventors, are now at the heart of the government’s thinking. The conclusions and recommendations from this workshop will be examined in depth during interministerial meetings, with a view to future ministerial decisions.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister awarded patents to the inventors to salute their contribution to the development of the country. This official recognition underlines the importance given by the Congolese state to the research and innovation sector.
Organized by the Ministries of Scientific Research and Industry, this workshop follows the conclave of Congolese scientific genius in 2023, aiming to promote inventions and innovations “made in Congo”. The eleven innovative projects presented during this event are fully in line with the objectives of the Suminwa government, particularly in terms of job creation, protection of purchasing power and strengthening of public services in the DRC.
Among these projects, we find a digital solution for the dematerialization of accounting, tax and customs procedures, as well as a pilot factory for the production of bread-making cassava flour. These innovations promise to modernize infrastructure and optimize processes, thereby contributing to a more efficient and inclusive economy.
The visit to the stands allowed the Prime Minister to discover these promising inventions up close. She is personally committed to supporting inventors in the realization of their projects, thus demonstrating her desire to promote the growth of scientific research and innovation in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
In conclusion, these eleven innovations represent a significant step towards a more innovative and prosperous future for the DRC. Thanks to the involvement of Congolese researchers and inventors, the country is positioning itself as a major player in the field of technology and innovation, thus opening new prospects for development and growth for the entire population.
