At the event, Governor Sanwo-Olu, represented by his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, addressed a message of goodwill to the assembled gathering. As for the First Lady, Mrs. Claudiana Sanwo-Olu, she highlighted the importance of citizens’ cooperation with the state government for the realization of democratic projects. She stressed the need to fight together against gender-based violence, sexual and domestic violence. By emphasizing awareness of the teachings of the Quran on these issues, she invited everyone to actively engage in the protection of women’s rights and the prevention of violence.
This celebration of Eid-el Kabir in Lagos was therefore an opportunity for the authorities to recall essential values such as cleanliness, solidarity and respect for each other.
