Indeed, the Tshopo Provincial Health Division recently issued a strong call for increased cooperation between traditional medicine practitioners and the province’s public health services.
During the inauguration of the new president of the provincial council of traditional practitioners of Tshopo, the message delivered to traditional practitioners was clear: collaborate closely with the modern health system to ensure optimal medical care for patients. Raymond Mbaya, representative of the Provincial Health Division, stressed the importance of this collaboration, calling on traditional practitioners to quickly share all relevant health information to prevent epidemics and guarantee efficient care.
It should also be noted that traditional medicine is now fully integrated into the health system in the DRC. This integration aims to take advantage of the ancestral knowledge of traditional practitioners to improve the overall health of the population. Raymond Mbaya hopes to establish a fluid dialogue between traditional practitioners and modern health professionals to proactively respond to the region’s health challenges.
Angelus Kambale, elected president of the provincial council of traditional practitioners, is committed to facilitating this collaboration and promoting modernized traditional medicine.
