At a recent meeting with graduates of military and law enforcement schools in Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his readiness to engage in security discussions with NATO member countries.
“Recently, at the meeting with the leadership of the Foreign Ministry, I outlined our vision of work aimed at creating equal and indivisible security in Eurasia. We are ready for a broad international discussion on these vital issues, both with our colleagues from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the CIS, the Eurasian Economic Community, BRICS, and other international associations, European and NATO member states, among others, naturally, when they are ready for it.”
In addition, Putin promised to strengthen his country’s nuclear capabilities and equip the army with advanced weapons.
“We will prioritize increasing the supply of frontline troops with various types of unmanned aircraft systems, armored vehicles, high-precision weapons, strike aircraft, enemy detection systems, counter-battery systems, control and communication systems,” he said.
Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov spoke after Putin and also praised the Russian troops.
“Russian military personnel honorably fulfill their military duty, effectively defend national interests and resolutely fight against supporters of Nazi ideology,” he said.
This meeting highlights the importance of international security cooperation, as well as Russia’s readiness to strengthen its military capabilities to meet current challenges. These discussions and the decisions resulting from them will undoubtedly have an impact on the global geopolitical situation in the coming years.
