In a laudable initiative aimed at modernizing educational infrastructure, the governor spoke at the inauguration of a Computer Based Testing (CBT) Center, a special intervention project of the Chief of Staff of the Army (CoAS), Lt.-Gen. T. A. Lagbaja.
Expressing his congratulations to the Federal Government and the Chief of Staff for the establishment of this CBT center, the governor stressed that it would contribute to the acquisition of skills and stimulate the socio-economic growth of the region.
This computer center is of capital importance for the socio-economic development of this community. In addition to pushing community members to acquire the skills needed in this era, it opens new avenues of socio-economic benefits for Igbaja and surrounding communities.
I remain fascinated by the impetus behind this project. It is timely and necessary. The need for a better military-civilian relationship cannot be overstated.
Recent events in our country underscore the need for a deeper appreciation of the sacrifices our security forces make to protect us, stabilize the fabric of our society and repel any threats to the Nigerian state.
Over the past two decades, the military has played very important roles in supporting civilian authorities at all times, including at a time when our country was under intense pressure from hostile non-state actors. the governor said.
AbdulRazaq urged Nigerians to appreciate and honor security forces deployed in internal operations and in times of emergency, and cease all attacks on them.
Previously, the CoAS said the execution of the project further confirms the transformational commitment of the Nigerian Army to fulfill its constitutional responsibility through a non-kinetic line of operations.
The Chief of the Army, represented by Maj.-Gen. Obinna Onubogu, thanked the governor and the people of the state for their continued support to the operations of the army.
“Maj.-Gen. Adelokun Eyitayo, a serving military officer and native of Igbaja, thanked the CoAS for approving the project and for his unwavering support in its realization. He also expressed gratitude to the governor for ordering the purchase and supply of his three books for students in public secondary schools in the state.
The project was executed by Eyitayo, who also launched three books, whose titles are “The Life of Prince Daud and Spirituality”, “The Tears of Suni and Titi” and “The Highland Boy”.
This initiative demonstrates the importance of investing in education and awareness of the importance of security forces in ensuring the stability and prosperity of the nation while strengthening ties between the armed forces and the civilian population.
