The exhibition “From all the rivers to all the seas of the world” opens a window on international solidarity towards Palestine from Chile. Thousands of kilometers from Gaza, artists from nearly 20 countries are mobilizing to dream of a free and peaceful Palestine, through a series of vibrant works presented at the National Archives of Chile.
The exhibition, designed by curator Javiera Manzi, is intended to be a gesture of deep solidarity, tenderness and beauty towards the Palestinian people. By highlighting the resistance, creativity and collective effort of international artists, it unequivocally denounces the genocide and extermination perpetrated against these oppressed people.
The watermelon, proudly displaying the colors of the Palestinian flag, becomes a strong symbol of the exhibition. Through 130 works of art ranging from photography and traditional embroidery to murals, album covers and posters, this exhibition demonstrates global solidarity with Palestine and highlights the urgency of translating these feelings into concrete actions.
Inspired by a previous international exhibition for Palestine in Beirut in 1978, the presentation by curator Pablo Abufom highlights the importance of international solidarity in the current context. While highlighting Chile’s significant role in Latin America and on the international scene, Abufom calls for mobilization to end the genocide in Palestine and to restore the tradition of international solidarity through tangible actions.
Chile, home to the largest Palestinian community outside the Middle East, counts among its personalities committed to peace the talented Palestinian-Chilean artist, Elyana. Faced with the recurring conflicts between Israel and Palestine which have cost the lives of more than 37,000 Palestinians, these artistic and political voices echo a common desire to put an end to this cycle of violence.
At the same time, on a legal level, Chile joined South Africa’s complaint against Israel before the ICJ last June. This exhibition, which explores the history of the Palestinian territories, is an invitation to action and mobilization. As a spectator, it is not simply a matter of admiring the works on display, but of considering them as tools to generate awareness and commitment to justice and peace.
The exhibition “From all the rivers to all the seas of the world” is a collective voice that resonates beyond borders, uniting artists from around the world in a surge of solidarity and resistance. Through art and creativity, she reminds us that the fight for Palestine is a common fight, where every gesture of solidarity counts, and where every voice can make a difference.
