In this month of June 2024, a crucial step has just been taken in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Just two days after its inauguration by the National Assembly, the government team led by Judith Suminwa Tuluka met for the first time in the Council of Ministers, under the presidency of Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, head of state.
This meeting marked the concrete start of government action, after the presentation of the Prime Minister’s program to national elected officials. A new era was dawning, where speeches and promises would give way to implementation and concrete actions.
During this meeting, the importance of the directions given by the President of the Republic could not be ignored. These directives set the course to follow, thus marking the start of a new chapter for the country.
It should be noted that the transition between the old and new government was completed the day before this historic meeting. The handovers and resumptions carried out demonstrated the continuity of the State and the desire to ensure a smooth transition.
This first meeting of the Council of Ministers had a strong symbolic significance. It symbolized the transition from a phase of political transition to an active phase of governance, where the members of the government team had the mission of transforming commitments into concrete actions in the service of the Congolese population.
In a national and international context marked by numerous challenges, this meeting marked the start of a new adventure for the DRC. Expectations were high, but the commitment and determination of this new government team seemed to match the challenges.
Thus, as the country looked to the future, the meeting of the Council of Ministers in June 2024 embodied the hope of positive change and progress for all Congolese citizens.
