The musical artist Fiston Mbuyi Malemba recently set foot on Iturian soil, sparking a wave of questions about the persistence of insecurity in Ituri, a region located in the northeast of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
Faced with repeated abuses against civilians in Ituri and North Kivu, Fiston Mbuyi spoke out on the imperative need for radical change. However, despite these exceptional measures, peace remains a distant dream. Armed groups continue to sow terror, plunging populations into a climate of uncertainty and fear.
Fiston Mbuyi, emblematic figure of Congolese gospel music, took the opportunity to urge the authorities to take courageous decisions in order to guarantee citizens the fundamental right to a peaceful and secure life. By uniting his voice with those of many other artists and activists, he hopes to raise real awareness and concrete commitment to peace and justice.
