Clear warning against fraud in the distribution of nutritional and medical supplies in the DRC

Fatshimetrie launches a clear warning against fraud in the distribution of nutritional inputs and medicines. During the recent mid-term review of the multi-sectoral nutrition and health project (PMNS) in the DRC, Dr Yuma Ramazani, Secretary General at the Ministry of Health, warned the actors involved in this crucial initiative.

He stressed the importance of ensuring integrity and transparency in the implementation of the project, insisting that any form of fraud or misappropriation of resources allocated for health and nutrition would be severely sanctioned. Dr. Ramazani stressed that the supervision and accountability of governors, medical inspectors and heads of provincial divisions are essential to ensure the smooth running of the PMNS.

The World Bank Health Representative, Dr. Michel Muvudi, highlighted the importance of the program in strengthening the health system to achieve universal health coverage. He stressed that the goal goes beyond simply reducing financial barriers, with a focus on improving the quality of services to reduce maternal and child mortality.

The PMNS is implemented in several provinces of the DRC, covering regions such as South Kivu, Kasai, Tanganyika, North Kivu and others. This project aims to improve access to adequate nutrition and essential health care for the most vulnerable populations.

It is imperative that all stakeholders involved in the PMNS demonstrate diligence and transparency in their actions, to ensure the effectiveness and positive impact of this vital program. The fight against fraud and the subtraction of inputs is a necessity to ensure that the allocated resources really benefit those who need them most.

Ultimately, the success of PMNS will depend on the commitment and integrity of all those involved. It is everyone’s responsibility to ensure that resources are used transparently and efficiently, for the well-being of the most vulnerable communities in the DRC.
