The Algerian national football team seeks victory against Guinea to qualify for the 2026 World Cup

The Algerian national football team trained this Tuesday at the FAF National Technical Center in preparation for their next match against Guinea, counting for the third day of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.

This is indeed coach Vladimir Petkovic’s first official match with Algeria, and the confrontation promises to be tough for the team which aims to win the three precious points.

Despite missing key players such as Riyad Mahrez, Youcef Belaili and Islam Slimani due to technical choices, Yacine Brahimi’s teammates are fully determined to achieve victory. Every point will count in the race for qualification and the players are fully aware of this.

After two victories against Somalia at home (3-1) and Mozambique in Maputo (2-0), Algeria is currently at the top of Group G. The Fennecs have already faced Guinea five times, winning three times, conceding a draw and a defeat.

Algeria has already participated in four World Cup finals, in 1982, 1986, 2010 and 2014. The objective now is to qualify for this prestigious international tournament as soon as possible.

Fans are preparing for an intense confrontation, with the entire country hoping that the national team will manage to achieve another victory. Expectations are high for this team which has certain potential and which could well mark the history of Algerian football once again.
