Fatshimetry: a new look at the development of the Central region
The political context in the Democratic Republic of Congo is marked by major challenges in terms of governance and development of the different regions of the country. With this in mind, the Forum for the Cohesion of the Central Region, also known as the Forum Centre, positions itself as a key player in the search for solutions to energize the Grand Kasaï area.
The recent Forum Center meeting in Kinshasa was an opportunity for national and provincial authorities, as well as government and parliamentary stakeholders in the region, to discuss the issues and opportunities for development in this region. The main objective of this meeting was to present the strategic reflections of the Forum and to establish common action mechanisms to promote integrated and integral development of the region.
The various speakers, through the Forum Center cells, presented their achievements and reflections on key themes such as communication, elections and governance, as well as development. These exchanges made it possible to highlight the actions already undertaken, particularly in the construction of essential infrastructure such as schools and health centers, in the provinces of Kasaï Central, Kasaï Oriental and Lomami.
The coordinator of the Grassroots Development Program for 145 territories at BCECO, Steve Mpiana, highlighted the importance of the projects carried out so far and highlighted the need to continue efforts to meet the needs of the population of the region. He also recalled that the second term of President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi represents a crucial opportunity for the development of Greater Kasai, and that all stakeholders must come together to succeed in this endeavor.
The Forum Center, under the direction of Doctor Bruno Miteyo, positions itself as a force for proposals in terms of development for the Grand Kasaï area. The different strategic think tanks, focused on elections and governance, development and communication, work together to identify the challenges and opportunities of this region and propose innovative and effective solutions.
In conclusion, the Forum for the Cohesion of the Central Region represents a promising initiative to stimulate the socio-economic development of Greater Kasai. By capitalizing on actions already undertaken and promoting close collaboration between the different stakeholders, it is possible to envisage a prosperous and harmonious future for this strategic region of the DRC.
