President Félix Tshisekedi strongly condemned the terrorist attack that occurred last Friday in Krasnogorsk, near Moscow, causing the loss of at least 60 lives and injuring 115 people. In an unequivocal gesture of solidarity, the Head of State expressed his compassion towards the Russian authorities, while presenting his sincere condolences to President Vladimir Putin, the Russian people and the bereaved families.
The attack, claimed by the Islamic State (IS) via a message on Telegram, has once again highlighted the terrorist threat that persists on a global scale. Despite Kinshasa’s generally pro-Western orientation, relations between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Russia appear to be strengthening, notably through a recent agreement on military cooperation between the two nations.
This tragic episode recalls the importance of international solidarity in the fight against terrorism and highlights the need for strengthened cooperation between countries to prevent such barbaric acts in the future.
In these times of mourning and pain, it is essential that the international community stands united in the face of the terrorist threat, working together to ensure security and peace throughout the world.
