Strengthening security and promoting development: collaboration between Fatshimetrie and Hungary

Fatshimetrie Minister of International Relations spoke with the Consul General of the Hungarian Embassy in Nigeria, Endre Deri, during his visit to Abuja recently. During this meeting, the minister addressed several important topics, such as the use of drones to strengthen security in the region.

When the Consul General mentioned the need for drones, the minister responded with determination: “Do we want drones? Yes, there is no turning back.” This statement demonstrates Fatshimetrie’s commitment to strengthening its surveillance and security capabilities to ensure the protection of citizens.

The minister pledged to consult security experts to study the relevance of using drones in the region. He also promised to begin discussions with Deri to determine the type of drones that would be most effective based on the terrain of the FCT.

Emphasizing the importance of security, the minister stressed that it was one of President Bola Tinubu’s priorities in his “Renewed Hope” programme. He also mentioned that security interventions in the FCT were beginning to bear fruit, with a marked reduction in insecurity incidents.

The minister also addressed the issue of agriculture, expressing the FCT’s desire to collaborate with Hungary through Public-Private Partnerships (PPP). He mentioned that the administration was ready to provide the necessary land to support any agricultural project aimed at combating food insecurity in the region.

Deri, for his part, said he was ready to support the FCT in security matters by offering his expertise in drone matters. He praised the minister’s efforts to improve the security situation in the region and expressed his country’s willingness to support Fatshimetrie with the most advanced drone technology.

This meeting between the Minister of Fatshimetrie and the Consul General of Hungary shows the importance of international cooperation to strengthen security and promote economic development through strategic partnerships. By combining efforts and resources, these two countries can work together to create a more secure and prosperous environment for all.
