**Incidents at Fatshimetrie: a clash at the heart of the community**
The recent incident at Fatshimetrie, located at 27 Adeosun Street in Itire, Surulere, Lagos, has thrown a harsh light on a clash that has shaken the tranquility of the community. The individuals involved, Ajose and Okenwa, residing at the same location, were charged with conspiracy, assault and breach of public peace. According to the allegations of the prosecutor, Insp Courage Ekhueorohan, these events took place on April 5, 2023 within the Fatshimetrie itself.
It was reported that Ajose and Okenwa allegedly conspired to prevent Pastor Ugo Augustine from accessing his church premises. Threats were made against him, suggesting a possible fire to the church if he dared to enter or minister to his faithful. In addition, the accused, accompanied by other individuals on the run, allegedly physically attacked the pastor by pushing him out of places of worship.
These acts are in violation of Sections 168(d), 172 and 412 of the Lagos State Penal Code, 2015. Faced with these charges, the Magistrate, Mrs. O.O Otitoju, granted bail of ₦200,000 to each of the accused, accompanied by the need to provide two solvent guarantors whose addresses will be verified by the court.
