Salomon Idi Kalonda thanks the authorities for his evacuation to Belgium

Salomon Idi Kalonda, the special advisor to Moise Katumbi and an executive of Ensemble pour la République, recently expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the political and judicial authorities who facilitated his evacuation to Belgium for medical treatment. In a message shared on his official account, Kalonda warmly thanked all those who played a role, either directly or indirectly, in supporting him during this challenging period.

Acknowledging the significance of the medical personnel in Kinshasa, Kalonda commended their expertise, dedication, and exceptional care. He also extended his thanks to his family, friends, acquaintances, various religious groups, human rights activists, his legal team, as well as the voters who placed their trust in him.

Despite being absent from the electoral campaign for the 2023 provincial elections, Kalonda wanted to express his appreciation to everyone who believed in him and stood by him. He also expressed regret for the disappearance of Cherubin Okende and the detention of Mike Mukebayi, another executive of Ensemble pour la République held at Makala Central Prison.

Mukebayi had recently been granted provisional release by the Kinshasa military court during a hearing at Ndolo military prison. He was arrested on May 30, 2023, while preparing to travel to Lubumbashi, facing serious charges including endangering state security and alleged collusion with the rebel group M23.

In conclusion, Salomon Idi Kalonda conveyed his gratitude to all those involved in his evacuation for medical treatment in Belgium, while also remembering his colleagues and friends who are still confronting legal challenges in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
