The Fund for Reparation and Compensation for Victims of Illicit Activities in the DRC (FRIVAO) is once again emphasizing the importance of patience from the victims of Kisangani regarding their compensation. Despite the threat of potential street protests if individual payments are not made within the next two weeks, Mgr François Mwarabu, the national coordinator of FRIVAO, is calling for calm and advising against rushing the process.
Mgr François Mwarabu explains that the ongoing certification process to identify the genuine victims must be completed promptly to facilitate the release of reparation payments. He stresses the significance of taking deliberate and sustainable actions to ensure all parties involved are satisfied, rather than succumbing to impatience.
Although a memorandum from the Kisangani war victims expresses their eagerness to receive compensation, Mgr François Mwarabu insists on allowing the process to unfold naturally, considering the various factors at play.
In a previous press conference, a FRIVAO communications manager urged victims to remain patient, assuring them that payments would be processed expeditiously. With the completion of the work to verify and certify the genuine victims, individual compensations are expected to be disbursed within one to two months.
It is crucial for the victims of Kisangani to exhibit understanding and patience, as rushing such significant processes could compromise the integrity and fairness of the proceedings.
In conclusion, both the competent authorities and FRIVAO are working towards ensuring fair and just compensation for the victims. However, achieving this outcome necessitates time and a methodical approach accepted by all parties. Hence, the patience of the victims is vital to reach a satisfactory resolution in this delicate situation.
