The 100-day program initiated by President Félix Tshisekedi recently took a positive turn with the long-awaited arrival of the first batch of medical equipment in Zongo, in the South Ubangi province. After five years of waiting, this much-hoped-for delivery arouses great emotion among the local population.
The unloading and storage of this modern medical equipment began immediately under the careful supervision of provincial deputy Coco Mbanzi, demonstrating a real investment to ensure that this presidential allocation reaches its destination. The Zongo general referral hospital welcomed this new equipment in an atmosphere of joy and gratitude.
Through this strong gesture, President Tshisekedi made good on his promise made during his visit in 2019, thus offering the inhabitants of Zongo quality medical infrastructure, encouraging them to now favor local health care rather than traveling to Bangui, in the Central African Republic.
However, the delay in the delivery of this equipment has raised questions. The hospital’s medical director stressed that logistical and technical constraints contributed to this delay. Some medical equipment still remains in transit in Lisala, raising concerns about its effective distribution. Despite these obstacles, the enthusiasm and hope aroused by this presidential initiative remain intact.
The 100-day program, launched by Félix Tshisekedi in 2019, promised emergency actions in various sectors to meet the most pressing needs of the Congolese population. Through this first batch of medical equipment in Zongo, the President demonstrates his desire to realize his commitments and improve the living conditions of citizens within the framework of his first mandate. Hopefully this initiative marks the start of a positive and lasting transformation in the Congolese health system.
