The recent event which took place in Kinshasa in March 2024 brought together thought leaders from diverse backgrounds to discuss the sexual and reproductive rights of adolescents. By emphasizing the importance of raising awareness among the population, particularly young people, about access to sexual and reproductive health services, the workshop aimed to equip these key players to become effective spokespersons. within their communities.
Through the involvement of the SHARP program and the interfaith network FAITH TO ACTION NETWORK, advocacy tools were presented to participants, with the aim of strengthening their capacity to promote the rights of adolescents in matters of sexual and reproductive health. Communication strategies adapted to each group of leaders have been developed, thus making it possible to personalize advocacy actions according to the specific needs of each community.
This initiative, beyond providing concrete solutions, shows the importance of collaboration between various actors to promote inclusive policies that respect the fundamental rights of everyone. By encouraging the participation of opinion leaders, this workshop laid the foundations for collective and coherent action to guarantee adolescents’ access to sexual and reproductive health services.
