“Historic surrender of two former Boko Haram commanders: A major victory for the MNJTF in the fight against terrorism”

Today’s news highlights the successful joint operations of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) against the Boko Haram insurgency. Two former Boko Haram commanders recently surrendered after fighting for more than a decade in the Kwalaram/Bakura Buduma camps.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, Head of Military Public Information of the MNJTF, the surrender of these two insurgents is the result of intense operations, combining kinetic and non-kinetic actions against terrorist groups in Sector 3 of the MNJTF.

During interrogations, the two former Boko Haram members, both named Muhammed, confessed to their long-standing affiliation with the Bakura Buduma camp, where they fought for 15 years in Kwalaram, Marte, Borno State .

The items seized from the possession of Ibrahim Muhammed, including two AK-47 rifles, three AK-47 magazines, 90 rounds of 7.62 mm caliber special ammunition, two magazine holders and a cell phone, illustrate the importance of this surrender.

This significant progress in the fight against Boko Haram highlights the effectiveness of the joint efforts of MNJTF member countries to restore peace and security in the region.
