“Mixed human-animal transport on the road: a dangerous practice under close surveillance by the FRSC”

Transporting humans and animals together on the road: a dangerous practice that endangers everyone’s safety

In a recent article, Anthony Uga, Sector Commander of Ogun FRSC, warned of the increasing danger of transporting humans and animals at the same time on the road. This increasingly frequent practice poses serious risks to road safety.

According to Uga, many drivers put humans and animals in the same vehicle, without worrying about the potentially disastrous consequences. This negligence has already led to fatal accidents on the roads. To further sensitize drivers and pet owners, the FRSC held meetings with pet dealers in the Kara area on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

Investigations by the FRSC revealed that most drivers were breaking the regulations without the owners of the animals being transported being aware. From now on, any infringement observed will be punished.

It is crucial that drivers are aware of the dangers of transporting humans and animals together on the road. Not only does this compromise the safety of all road users, but it also exposes animals to unsuitable transport conditions. By raising awareness among drivers and applying dissuasive sanctions, the FRSC is working to prevent further tragic accidents due to this irresponsible practice.

Together, let’s make road safety a top priority and adopt safer transportation practices for everyone.
