“Major blow against crime: arrest of suspected kidnappers in Lekki-Ajah, Lagos”

The arrest of suspected kidnappers in the Lekki-Ajah area of ​​Lagos by the MOPOL 20 Mobile Police and Maroko Police Division was confirmed by the Force Public Relations Spokesperson, ACP Olumiyiwa Adejobi. The operation was the result of an hours-long encounter at one of the suspects’ hideouts in the Lekki-Ajah axis of the state.

Adejobi said the suspects were part of a notorious gang of kidnappers operating in the Lekki-Ajah area. Their arrests were made following a series of complaints to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Adegoke Fayoade, regarding a surge in kidnappings along the Lekki-Ajah axis.

During the raid, three suspected payment terminals (POS) used to collect ransoms and 10 mobile phones were seized from the suspects. These recent operations made it possible to rescue several victims and recover crucial evidence.

Furthermore, a similar operation carried out on March 16, 2024 by officers of the Badagry police division led to the arrest of a certain Abbas, suspected of being the leader of a cult gang involved in the shooting. of Adeniyi Adebanjo in February 2024.
